TARS Annual Instructor Update – Online Update Annual Instructor I Updates are the bi-annual training required for TARS certified Instructor I level instructors to remain instructors and learn new and valuable teaching skills for their upcoming training classes. All instructors are required to attend one of the annual regional updates, either live online or on site, every two years to retain their instructor rating. The two-year fee is now $30 ($15 per year) plus an additional $10 charge for the online update access. You should be able to view this online update from a smartphone, tablet or computer. Interactive participation and attendance will be logged and verified. Pre-Registration: Required at least two weeks prior to the event Vehicle Extrication: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm CST Lunch: 12:30pm - 1:30pm CST. Blood-borne Pathogens/EVOC/VKF - 1:30 pm -4:00 pm CST. Pre-registration is required to ensure your seat at the update. For those wishing to view the update online, you will have to pre-register and complete payment to receive an invitation link to participate in the program. There is a new online registration process that allows you to pay your annual fee prior to attendance that will speed up the process. NOTE: If an instructor does not attend either a live event or online update prior to their expiration date, that instructor will be in default of their instructor certification. Third year failure to attend the bi-annual required update will result in complete loss of Instructor Certification. Reinstatement within a two-year period of expiration will require a $100.00 reinstatement fee plus $15 per year expired not to exceed a total of $130 to bring the instructor to the current year, then the instructor will be responsible for an additional $30 at the instructor update to extend their instructor rating for the additional two years.
