SARTOPO SAR Mapping (CALTOPO)

SARTOPO SAR Mapping (also known as CALTOPO), is an 8-hour hands-on course designed for the beginner to have immediate knowledge, skills, and confidence to create and maintain a SAR map for a single operational period missing person's search. The course will require a laptop and a cell phone both with internet capability. Participants will need to create a personal (free) SARTOPO account prior to attending. A portion of the class will be outdoors in order to experience the ability to navigate to points, cover a search area, and allow the search base to monitor your search in "real time." Upon completion, the participants should be able to create a SAR map from scratch, apply Lost Person Behavior statistics, create search areas, understand map layers, and much more.
