All of this will be taking place in the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, TN.

COURSE LINE-UP

  • Thursday October 7, 2021

Res-Q-Jack Stabilization University – 8 Hours

Join us for a special day of intense hands-on training presented by Cris Pasto from Res-Q-Jack. In this course your team will learn the cornerstone principles of patented Res-Q-Jack® stabilization and lifting procedures, as well as more complex and unique scenarios. Whether a rookie or a seasoned veteran, your first responders will be able to add to their arsenal of knowledge. Cost is $200 per student.

Awareness/Operations Level Response to Electric Vehicles – 4 Hours

Presented by the one and only Ron Moore from Firehouse Magazine, this newly developed course will address the competencies, challenges, and safety concerns when dealing with electric vehicles on today’s roadways. This course takes a deep dive into not only the safety aspect, but also the vehicle rescue and firefighting challenges of these vehicles. Case studies of actual events will be utilized to address and identify hazards and tactics. Cost is $85 per student.

Hurst Jaws of Life Tools End-User Maintenance – 4 Hours

Presented by Anthony Morabito, Regional Sales Manager for Hurst Jaws of life, this course will cover the end user maintenance recommendations for Hurst Rescue Tools. Topics covered include power units, line pressures, battery powered tools and the maintenance requirements and user maintenance tasks to keep your tools performing at peak performance. Utilizing a mixture of classroom and hands-on exercises, this course is a must for anyone using Hurst Jaws of Life brand tools. Cost is $85 per student.

Down & Dirty Extrication Tactics with Low Manpower – 4 Hours

Presented by the TARS Rescue College instructors with nationally recognized guest instructors, this course features some “down and dirty” tactics and techniques when dealing with entrapments and low manpower situations. Students will spend the entire course hand-on learning how to mitigate complex scenarios with limited manpower utilizing basic tools in their arsenal. Topics included are controlled rolls, vehicle movement, variations on dash lifts and other quick and efficient techniques. Full extrication PPE required and students must be 18 year or older to participate. Cost is $85 per student.

Man-Tracking 101 – 4 Hours

Presented by Sgt. Vance Wood with the State of Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries Division Enforcement Section in District IV. This important and very interesting aspect of Search and Rescue will give you a small sampling of the importance of why man tracking, and clue searching is such an important part of the search process. In this 4-hour outdoor class Vance will give you the basics on how to read and interpret the different types of tracks. This course is 100% hands-on and outdoor apparel is required. Cost is $85.00 per student.

Agricultural Safety and Response for Emergency Services – 4 Hours

Presented by Dale Dobson, Safety Administrator for the Kentucky Dept. of Agriculture and inventor of the Turtle Grain Rescue Tube, this course addresses the hazards and challenges associated with agricultural incidents. Topics such as tractor rollovers, grain entrapments, and other safety issues on the farm will be covered. In a mixture of classroom and static displays, students will be introduced to this challenging area of technical rescue. This course is designed to assist local agencies with the tools to work with local farmers and students in their home areas for farm safety and accident prevention as well. Cost is $85.00 per student.
