TARS Annual Instructor Update – Live On-Site

Annual Instructor I Updates are the bi-annual training required for TARS certified Instructor I level instructors to remain instructors and learn new and valuable teaching skills for their upcoming training classes. All instructors are required to attend one of the annual regional updates, either live online or on site, every two years to retain their instructor rating. The two-year fee is now $30 ($15 per year). Locations for the 2 regional updates are to better centralize and access to accommodate the larger attendance. Please attend any/all of the skill areas you are certified to instruct.

On-Site Registration: 8:00 am – 8:45 am (local event time zone)

Vehicle Extrication: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm (local event time zone)

Lunch: 12:30pm - 1:30pm (local event time zone)

Blood-borne Pathogens/EVOC/VKF - 1:30 pm -4:00 pm (local event time zone)

While pre-registration is not required, it is highly recommended to ensure your seat at the update. For those wishing to view the update online, you will have to pre-register and complete payment to receive an invitation link to participate in the program. There is a new online registration process that allows you to pay your annual fee prior to attendance that will speed up the process.

NOTE: If an instructor does not attend either a live event or online update prior to their expiration date, that instructor will be in default of their instructor certification. Third year failure to attend the bi-annual required update will result in complete loss of Instructor Certification. Reinstatement within a two-year period of expiration will require a $100.00 reinstatement fee plus $15 per year expired not to exceed a total of $130 to bring the instructor to the current year, then the instructor will be responsible for an additional $30 at the instructor update to extend their instructor rating for the additional two years. Questions regarding instructor reinstatement should be addressed to the State Training Coordinator by calling the State Office at 865-689-3256 or via email at brian@tnars.org.
